Lessons
Bamboo Bell offers private
lessons, workshops, and internet lessons. Nelson Lee teaches traditional
Japanese music in a multicultural context, using a mix of Eastern
and Western teaching methods. Lee specializes in teaching honkyoku
pieces.

Beginners are taught
to play Japanese folk songs to develop fundamental techniques before
learning Watazumido honkyoku (Zen) pieces. Students are given the
chance to perform regularly in student concerts, where a safe and
supportive environment is provided for sharing the music.
Beginning students are
expected to take lessons once a month. Folk songs are taught initially
and honkyoku pieces are introduced as the student acquires the skills
to advance.
